Strange Meetings & Doings - Chapter #57

Free Enterprise - Strange Meetings & Doings  -  Chapter #57

Just as Tyr and Khan exited the Observation Deck they ran into HaxHis.

“Ah! Just the people I wanted to see.” she said, as she clapped her hand-paws. Both Tyr and Khan thought “Oh-oh!”

“Oh, it's not bad. I assure you.” HaxHis said. For perhaps the thousandth time Tyr wondered if the woman was telepathic. “We have a very special race of people coming in this afternoon and I want you two be present when we meet with them.” she continued.

“Who are they?” Tyr asked.

“I cannot tell you right now. But they will be bringing us some very valuable information.” HaxHis replied. “I will also need you to make a decision on which ships you would like to be part of your fleet.” she continued as she handed Tyr a pad. On it was listed all 200 Starfleet ships which were not only docked at but orbiting Deep Space Ten. Automatically,  he selected The Insurrection as his flagship.

“I would like Captain's Hunt and Valentine to be part of it.” Tyr said.

“Good, that's three down. Three more to go.” HaxHis replied.

“Do we currently know the whereabouts of Captain Rommie?” Tyr asked.

“Supposedly she is on some kind of secret mission and has not come in from the cold yet.” HaxHis replied. Captain Rommie was an android like Data and didn't actually have a ship.

“I know you've gotten used to and are probably spoiled by the Nova Class, but I want you to test drive a Defiant Class today. Starfleet sent us a brand new one that doesn't even have a name yet. All it has is a serial number designation. She is much smaller than the Insurrection but she's fast as hell and armed to the teeth. You'll never know when you will need her.” she continued. Khan gazed significantly at Tyr.

“Forgive me Ma'am for bringing this up at this particular time. But, I request permission to take personal leave.” Tyr started. “I received word that Barbarossa is not well. . . . . . .” he continued.

“Oh that is not good. How soon would you want to leave? Would you be taking your family?” HaxHis asked, deep concern evident in her voice.

“The day after tomorrow. Yes, I will take my family.” Tyr replied.

“That sounds good to me. I will handle the arrangements on this end.” HaxHis replied. “In the meantime, we have a ship to meet in a few hours.” she continued.

NOTE TO READERS: Sorry this is so short but I'm setting up for a larger chapter to come.
