Quick Desicions - Chapter #70

Free Enterprise  - Quick Decisions -  Chapter #70

Since they were not on The Inssurection, Tyr and Tamara had to take a lift up to the docking bay where The Insurrection was moored. It was on the way, Tyr met Khan. The mere sight of the Katay caused the small hairs on the back of the Nietzschean's neck to stand on end.

“Good Morning, Admiral.” Khan said, pleasantly.

“Good Morning, Captain.” Tyr replied, as he watched Tamara walk a distance away to give them privacy.

“A moment of your time, Admiral.” Khan whirred in Katay.

“What is it?” Tyr replied in kind.

“It is imperative that you leave today for Pinnacle.” Khan stated.

“Today? But. . . . .” Tyr asked and looked around for Tamara. She was standing there and staring at the bulkhead as if it were the most interesting thing in the universe.

“. . . . . . and you must take the Insurrection, not the new ship.” Khan continued

“That means FADM HaxHis must be informed, and the crew must be recalled. . . . . . .” Tyr said.

“She has been informed and your crew was put on notice two hours ago. The Insurrection will be ready to leave within the hour.” Khan replied.

“Thank you, Khan, but I have not even had a chance to pack.” Tyr replied, and shook his head.

“Don't worry Tyr, your wives are taking care of it as we speak.” Khan replied, as he backed off. “See you in an hour.” he continued.

Tyr's mind was reeling with a million little details he had to take care of while Tamara and he awaited lift.

The corridor was crowded with returning Insurrection officers who shouted “Make Way! Make Way!” and made room when they saw the RADM and the Captain in their midst. However, when the lift came, Tyr and Tamara let them all board. Neither one of them wanted to be squeezed into a sardine can. When the next lift came, which was occupied with civilians, the couple got on.

They passed the ship's checkpoint and went straight to Sickbay. Despite the early hour, Kori was up, and grousing as she sipped Rakitgino from an insulated mug. Both RADM and Commander gazed at each other.

“Ship's pulling out in an hour and I've got semi-annual physicals to complete. Take your pick. I'll get plenty of sleep when I'm dead, as my Father used to say.” Kori groused. “Oh and by the way, since you two are here, please get up on yon bio-beds.” she continued.

Tamara meekly went and lay down on one bed and submitted as Dr. Freya checked her over. Tyr stood rooted to his spot.

“Excuse me, Sir. What are you expecting? An embossed invite?” Kori asked. “I promise it won't hurt and I'll even give you a lollipop after if you are good.” she continued.

Tyr was about to say something equally acerbic when in “flapped” Amanda and Xena. She was deliberately wearing a pair of flip flops in order to show off her pedicure. Extremely bright orange nail polish decorated her toe nails, compliments of Tyr. He'd used clear nail polish on her hands. Kori gazed at Tyr as a knowing smile spread across her face. Tyr rolled his eyes and blushed in response.

Kori put her cup aside and personally escorted Xena to a bio bed. Meanwhile, Tamara had finished her exam.

“Where is Dr. Mutauro?” Tamara asked.

“She's in the next room.” Dr. Freya replied, and pointed. Tamara headed in that direction with Tyr in tow. Upon entering the room, They noted the EMH was sitting down and had her back turned as she worked. Though she wore the colors of Medical / Sciences, it was all too plain, she was an exact replica of Tamara.

Upon hearing the noise, Ada turned to look at them. Actually, she looked directly at Tamara. Both were stunned, startled and memorized.

“Perhaps, this was not such a good idea.” Tyr thought to himself. Even though he was a virtually "fearless" Nietzschean, he was getting the willies from simply watching those two.

“Leave us.” Tamara stated, mentally. Totally forgetting his “katas” Tyr blinked and frowned. “We have women matters to discuss.” she stated further. Taking the hint, Tyr left.

Outside:

“Hello, Big Boy. Why don't you step over here, into my parlor?” Kori said, as she indicated the unoccupied bio bed to her left, and smiled.
