Making Amends - Chapter 34

JUST FRIENDLY REMINDER: The events in this episode are NOT written according to Andromeda cannon! A First Wife has no say so in the matter of her consort taking additional wives or whom he decides to take. If she doesn't like who he has chosen, it's up to the First Wife to find some "creative way" to get rid of her. Boy! What a "soap opera" that would make!

Free Enterprise  -  Making Amends - Chapter 34

Captain Anasazi arrived a a very quiet Sickbay. He was informed that Kori was in her office, by Nurse Starks.

“Oh, this just gets better and better.” Tyr thought, sourly. The last thing he wanted to deal with was Darwin the chatterbox and VuVu the pickpocket. He buzzed for entrance anyway.

“Come.” Kori's voice said. Tyr stepped in. Kori had her head down studying something on her computer screen. She looked up to see who it was, and also because she smelled roses. She was surprised to see none other than Captain Tyr Anasazi standing in her office doorway with a large wrapped bouquet of what smelled like roses in his hand.

Time froze as they both stared at each other. The Nietzschean too proud to apologize, and the Klingon too proud to mention that she had been slighted.

“All is forgiven, Captain. Thank you.” she said, as she stood, walked around the side of the desk and stood in front of Tyr. She took the bouquet and Tyr watched as every rose turned a deep royal-bluish purple.

“How did you know that purple is my favorite color?” Kori asked.

“I did not.” Tyr replied.

“Then how?” Kori asked. Tyr related the short history Lt. Torres had given him only minutes earlier. “She believes it may be caused by a chemical reaction.” Tyr added.

“I will have to look that up.” Kori said, cradling the bouquet. “Now, get your butt out of here! I've got work to do!” she added and smiled. Tyr smiled, shook his head and left. Kori tossing him out of her office meant she was back to her old intractable self. And he was glad.

“So how'd it go?” Tamara asked Tyr, later on that evening when they were together. Tyr related the events to her as she lay snuggled in his arms.

“Now we have a welcome dinner to plan.” Tamara said.

“What planning? You invite. I'll cook.” Tyr replied.

“Are you sure it won't be too much?” she asked.

“No, it will not.” Tyr assured.

“Then it's on for tomorrow night.” Tamara said. “It'll be here right?” she continued.

“Yes.” Tyr replied.

“Then I'd better tidy up a bit, make room for the new addition to the family, and find something nice to wear. . . .” Tamara started.

“Tam.” Tyr said. Interrupting her verbal list.

“Yes?” she asked.

“Be quiet and go to sleep. We both have a long day tomorrow.” he said.

“Okay.” Tamara replied and snuggled closer to Tyr. He eased the covers up over them. Within minutes, both were fast asleep.
